Money can play a part in the feeling of stress in life. Whether that’s in buisness not knowing where the next client is going to come from, whether that's a pattern of over spending or whether thats champagne ideas on ale house money!
The desire to do something worthwhile with my life was planted like a seed and my belief in that has helped it to grow into something tangible. However financially, physically or emotionally things don’t always happen the way I planned, for example the money I believe I need doesn’t land in my bank account. It’s at times like these that things appear a little rocky on the road and it’s easy to lose connection with myself and the universe. However my belief is that I will find the answers that I am looking for when I become inspired and can connect to that part of me that holds the wisdom and truth I need. So how do I become inspired? One tool I use is to look for someone who has triumphed over a similar obstacle that I have come up against. When I read of great men and women who started off with a desire to make a difference in the world and transformed it into reality against huge odds, what I am left with is hope and faith. Just using this simple tool helps me to feel good in the now-After all it defies happiness to expect yourself to reach your goal one day and for your troubles to dissolve; life is about being happy on the journey to your destination.
One of my favourite stories is of Sameul Pierpont Langley, have you ever heard of him? I hadn’t either until I did a little research. Well Samuel Pierpont Langley was given £50,000 by the war department to solve the problem of flying back in the early 1900s. This meant that money was no problem for him, not only that but he had studied at Oxford, he had the best team money could buy, he was connected to all the right minds at that time and his working conditions were fantastic. Newspapers followed him round, encouraging him every step of the way to solve the issue at hand. He was a driven man, driven by fame, money and results....
Then you have the Wright brothers, have you heard of them? Yes I had too. They had none of the typical things people believe they need for success; no money, no college education, not even any of their team had a college education. The Wright Brothers paid for their dream with the proceeds from their bicycle shop. However they were driven by something different. They were driven by their belief that if they could figure out how to fly a plane they could change the course of the world. And what happened? In December 17th1903, the Wright brothers took flight. Not that anyone was there to see it happen because everyone was following Samuel, we all found out days later. And what happened to Samuel Pierpont Langley? He quit. He wasn't inspired to take what the right brothers had acheieved and improve it still further because his reason for beginning was fame.
This story brings home the importance of the bigger belief behind what you do. It demonstrates the importance of knowing and being inspired by the bigger ‘why’? Why do you do what you do?! Are you driven by the need for money or fame? Or is money just the vehicle that allows you to drive your message to more and more parts of the world?
The reason I believe that you don’t need money to get you to where you want to be is because when it comes to finance the world always seems to deliver to us exactly what we need. Do we need more money and resources or do we need more creativity and resourcefulness? Do we need more money or do we need to manage and show gratitude for the money we already have?
There is another very important distinction to make here: What we want and what the universe knows we need are two very different things. Forcing more money and feeling frustrated when it doesn’t show up is stressful. Managing your money as best you can and allowing the universe to do her thing is peaceful. We have the perfect amount of money for what we need at that time; it’s just our thoughts about the money we have that prevents our peace in the current situation. So this month I invite you to consider and journal (as always) about the following things:
Why are you here? What do you hope to achieve with your life?
How can you be more creative with the resources you have available?
How can you be more focused on creativity not cash?
Trust. Believe. Receive.
I hope you live in a way that allows you to receive the amount of money that is right for you. Let your heartfelt desires drive your behaviour and let what you do serve as the proof of what you believe.
With Love
Lucy
