Quite a number of years ago I was working on a Suicide Helpline and doing a night shift. I went on the phone at 10.30pm and the phones rang all night without stopping until 7.30am when I finally got off the phone. I realised that every call I took was from a survivor of childhood sexual abuse. I had a quick drink and at 8am made for my car across the car park, I looked at my watch at 7.30am and at 8am at my car I realised my watch was missing. I went back and looked for it without success. In the end I gave up. This was in the middle of Grantham. 18 mths later when I was recovering from an operation and felt well enough to have a good clean up and decided to move my bed and vacumn underneath, there, still ticking without a speck of dust on it was my watch!!!!! Which I had lost in town!!!! I realise now that this is an apport, when something disappears and then reappears somewhere where you don't expect it. The link, I realised was when I found the watch I had just started training to be a counsellor for people who have suffered sexual abuse!! To me this was the Spirit World letting me know I was on the right pathway, very reassuring.

My Grandmother died at the beginning of the 1970's and she left my sister her old sewing-machine. Some weeks later I got it out to make something and carefully lifted it up onto the family dining-room table which was covered by a thick velveteen cloth. This cloth was patterned with large brown and gold squares each about four by four inches.

I couldn't seem to get the tension right and was fiddling with the mechanism when I dropped a small screw. I searched everywhere around the machine for it and, failing to find it, called my mother in to help me. Both of us ran our hands over and around the machine and across the full width of the table, feeling carefully but no luck. We even got down on our hands and knees and searched the floor but still nothing.

I was furious with myself and returned with my mother to the living-room where we sat down in front of the fire talking. We decided that I would have to take the machine into a shop to get some advice. About twenty minutes later I went back into the dining-room to turn everything off and put it away. I bent down to pull out the plug and, as my head reached table height, there was the screw sitting right in the middle of one of the yellow squares. Definitely not there before but a lovely message from my Grandmother!

I lost a gold lighter that was sentimental to me as it was a present from my partner of thirteen years who had recently passed away. I searched everywhere in my flat to no avail and gave it up for lost. A few weeks later I was moving from my flat to a new house. All went well with the move, however as I still had the key to the flat I went back the next day to say goodbye to the flat and all it's memories. The flat was completley empty of all furniture I felt sad as I said my good byes. I went to leave and something told me to look back.. as I did so, there in the middle of the floor lay my lighter. I had walked all around the flat minutes before and it wasn't there. I believe that was an apport sent from my partner who I had just lost.
